Mascot and characters

The Bavunio lantern and the people who appear in lessons.

The mascot is a turquoise lantern with a gold window for a face and a small white kufi. It appears where a learner needs a guide: welcome, tips, encouragement after a mistake, rewards and the end of a lesson. Its eyes and mouth are separate parts, so the app can blink and move its mouth with the voice.

The cast are ordinary modern Muslims of every age: children, teenagers, parents and grandparents. They appear in lesson scenes and share one height scale by age, so a child stands shorter than a parent.

Rules

• No character represents a prophet, a Companion or a member of the Prophet’s family.
