Color
Lapis & Gilding, the Bavunio palette taken from illuminated Qur'an manuscripts.
Bavunio’s colors come from illuminated manuscripts: lapis blue, gold, madder red and green on warm paper, or on ink in dark mode. The app follows the device setting, and the learner can choose light or dark in Settings.
Rules
- Lapis is for actions: buttons, the current lesson, links.
- Gold is for rewards only: full mastery and Legendary review. An ordinary button is never gold.
- Red marks a mistake and always comes with an icon and a sentence, so meaning never depends on color alone. Green marks a correct answer under the same rule.
- Every text color meets WCAG AA 4.5:1 on its background in both modes, and every interface element meets 3:1.
- Pressable elements carry a darker bottom edge in their own depth shade; pressing removes the edge.

Each unit has an accent for its banner, finished lessons and popovers. One value serves both modes; the darker shade is its depth edge.
